Laurel has always loved movement, to the point that it’s hard for her to sit still! Growing up, she was always trying new activities and sports, especially if they involved some graceful movement and very little running. In 2008, while living in Korea to teach English, a friend took her to an Iyengar-based yoga studio and she fell in love immediately. She has consistently practiced at least twice a week ever since then.
Laurel credits the invaluable tools she has discovered in her yoga practice with allowing her to accomplish many things she never would have attempted before. Finding that yogic breath control was the key to her ability able to run more than a mile without doubling over with side cramps, in 2014 she ran the LA Marathon.
In 2017, she began look for a teacher training program so that she could share the magical practice she had found. After a frustratingly long search, she found the program at Just Yoga and knew it was the one for her after attending just one class there! She is now honored and excited to share her love and passion for yoga with you!
Outside of the studio, you can find her (not sitting still) running around with her two kids, riding her bike, or hiking.
