jy community flow

Our signature class – but only $5! Active students of any level will love this slower-paced flowing yoga class that explores the union of breath and movement while working the entire body. Enjoy lingering holds and smooth, uncomplicated transitions. Class-appropriate arm balances, inversions, and backbends may also be included. JY Community Flow classes are $5 per person and are our way of giving back to our community by keeping yoga accessible to all. This is the same class as our JY Slow Flow.

jy resistance flow

Build muscle strength, gain balance, improve flexibility, increase bone density!

Experience the magic that a little muscle “load” can add to your practice. Basic postures using light resistance bands have been shown to do all of this and more. Since flexible lightweight bands can be used “as is” for less resistance, or held tighter to increase muscle load, this class is great for students of ALL levels of experience, fitness, and age (15 and up please)… and it’s FUN!

jy power flow

Our signature class on steroids! This is a faster-paced, more athletically-themed class for those who want to work hard and sweat. Students should be familiar with common standing postures (don’t worry, you don’t need to know the names!). Arm balances, inversions, and deeper backbends may be offered. Drink plenty of water and don’t forget your towel!

candlelight slow flow

It’s Friday night and candlelight! Our signature class meets spa treatment in this meditative, flowing yoga class that explores the union of breath and movement while working the entire body. Enjoy lingering holds and smooth, uncomplicated transitions. Class-appropriate arm balances, inversions, and backbends may be offered. And did we mention the CANDLELIGHT?

This class is followed immediately by a Tibetan Singing Bowl Soundbath, the perfect way to set yourself up for a great weekend!

gentle no-flow

Gentle yoga is like the “dessert” of the yoga world – delicious! Explore gentle stretches and slow movements which strengthen muscles and stabilize joints, while avoiding the frequent “up and down” movements that characterize many flow classes. This class is especially recommended for those with back or knee pain, poor standing balance, first time or late term pregnancy, or really anyone looking for a sweeter practice. Easy, uncomplicated transitions between poses and plenty of props and supports are offered.

restorative yoga

Restorative Yoga is one of the most healing forms of yoga. In this class, you’ll find your body to melting into postures fully supported by blankets and bolsters, allowing tense muscles to relax and noisy thoughts to drift away. This class will energize and recharge you and is a TREAT for your body and your mind.

flow & restore

Slow Flow with a side of Restorative? Yes please!

Start with movement and end with ahhhhh as you spend the first half of class slow-flowing through common standing and strengthening postures and the second half melting into restoratives, supported by blankets, bolsters, and clouds to allow your body and your mind to rest and relax. This class will energize and recharge you just in time to make your weekend great!

yin yoga | stretching

Yin Yoga focuses on increasing joint mobility and decreasing pain by exploring the body’s deep tissue though long-hold (2-5 minute) seated and reclined stretches. This inwardly-focused class will bring you a greater range of motion, less back and hip pain, and an increased flow of energy.

While appropriate for all, students who are very flexible or pregnant should consult with the instructor before class begins to ensure joint stability.

rise & yin

This well-worth-getting-up-for yin class is specially geared toward athletes, early commuters, and anyone who needs that extra stretch to feel good for the day. This class brings increased range of motion, less back and hip pain, and a huge burst of energy!

While appropriate for all, students who are very flexible or pregnant should consult with the instructor before class begins to ensure joint stability.

meditation

Finding peacefulness and focus in our stress-filled lives today has become so challenging for many. More and more meditation is recommended as a necessary self-care ritual, and it’s also one of most direct ways to ease anxiety. Each class session begins with guided relaxation and focused breathing, followed by a period of silent meditation. No prior knowledge or experience with meditation is necessary.

breathwork + meditation

Learn how to use your breath to relax and balance your nervous system. Breathwork (pranāyama) helps manage stress, improves sleep, focus, digestion, and immune function, as well as connects you to your body’s wisdom. Breathwork is incredibly supportive to beginning and deepening a meditation practice, as it helps to calm the body and mind for inward focus.

Yes, you can meditate! All are welcome, no experience with breathwork or meditation is necessary.

singing bowl soundbath

Experience the magic of vibration! Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and a gong. Yes, a gong! Need we say more?
