Danyell started practicing yoga several years ago at Just Yoga as a way to ease back into a regular exercise routine. After that first class, she was hooked, she knew she had found something that her body could do. Having experienced chronic pain for a number of years, Danyell found that Gentle classes were a great way to get back into movement and that yoga allowed her the opportunity to decide how much movement her body needed on a day to day basis. After establishing a regular consistent practice, she soon realized both the physical and mental benefits that can be achieved through yoga.
As an elementary school special education teacher, Danyell’s brain is always “on.” Through yoga, she found a way to cultivate her much-needed inner calm. Being a teacher at heart, she was inspired to join Just Yoga’s Teacher Training Program in 2015.
“I find a balanced practice, one that incorporates Yang and Yin, keeps my body and mind in a happy place. A regular Yin yoga practice allows me to practice stillness and quiet, it forces me to slow down and listen to the subtle cues my body is giving me. Yoga has truly benefited my life physically and mentally, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share it with others.”
